MEET DAVID: A Life Built on Hard Work
David Jones, a seasoned businessman and real estate broker, is running for Governor of Maine with a mission to rebuild Maine’s future and raise the standard of living for hardworking Mainers.
For nearly three decades, David has called Maine home—raising a family, building a business, and investing in the communities he serves. With a career rooted in hard work and Jersey toughness, David began working at age 13 and mastered the drywall trade by 17.
After moving to Florida, he built a successful construction company, employing up to 1,100 workers on major projects like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and The Gardens Mall. At 26, he earned a Class A General Contractor’s license, enabling him to tackle large-scale developments. After the 1989 Florida market crash, David pivoted, later restoring hurricane-damaged properties and moving to Maine in 1997.
In Maine, David helped revitalize Bingham’s downtown through a combination of private funds and a federal redevelopment grant. David and his wife Nancy settled in Falmouth, where he has lived for 25 years. He now owns The FO Bailey Company, Maine’s oldest continuously operating business, founded in 1819. As a broker, he has handled deals from starter homes to major commercial properties, always prioritizing tradition and excellence.
David has supported Trump’s America First platform since 2015, founding the Making Maine Great Again PAC to help elect him President. Jones also represented Maine as a 2024 RNC National Delegate and Platform Committee member.
David and his wife Nancy have been married for 40 years and raised six children - including one adopted from Costa Rica - and are hands-on grandparents to seven grandchildren (with more on the way). In his free time, you’ll find him playing guitar, tapping maple trees and making pancakes with his grandkids, or enjoying a good scotch by the fire.
